World Environment Day 2021
The world has gone through some serious changes in the past few decades. Communication technology, transportation and food industries have seen a sea change and so are the medicine and the pharma industry. Oil guzzling monsters are riding our streets, skies and seas. Everything seems to be at a swift. As we are creating a cosy lifestyle for us, we tend to forget the damages we inflict upon our environment.
Let us celebrate this Environment Day by planting trees and plants that suit our environment and take a vow to take care of them. Do you know our land is one of the 12 mega bio-diversity countries of the world? We have a greater responsibility to our environment and to this earth. Let's act on it every day! Every day is a day to nurture our environment! You take care of the environment and it will take care of you. Believe me!
Create suitable places around your house for the birds and butterflies to thrive. Vegetable growing can be done at a small scale in our own backyard or on our terrace. We have been implementing this philosophy at our Garden School by having a vegetable garden and planting plants for butterflies to support their entire lifecycle. We have been planting trees at regular intervals on our campus so that the future environment is safe for everyone around us and for squirrels, crow pheasants and mynas. Let us bequeath this world as a better place for our kids so that they can thrive.
I am glad to share some of the photos of our students for this environment day. They have been messaging us through online platforms about their deeds. We are happy that they are acting on our philosophy.
Environment Day song
Our cosmic oasis, cosmic blue pearl
the most beautiful planet in the universe
all the continents and all the oceans
united we stand as flora and fauna
united we stand as species of one earth
different cultures, beliefs and ways
we are humans, the earth is our home
all the people and the nations of the world
all for one and one for all
united we unfurl the blue marble flag.
Happy Environment Day to all!
